Learn about our mission, leadership, history, and how we're advancing surgical care across Rwanda and the East African region.
The Rwanda Surgical Society (RSS) was established to bring together surgeons, trainees, nurses, and allied health professionals dedicated to improving surgical care throughout Rwanda.
As a constituent society of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), we are part of a network of over 20 surgical societies spanning the continent, united by a shared commitment to surgical excellence and equitable access to safe surgery.
Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, RSS works to ensure that every Rwandan has access to safe, timely, and affordable surgical care regardless of where they live.
Founded with the belief that strong surgical systems save lives, RSS was created to give Rwanda's surgical community a unified voice and platform to drive meaningful change in health outcomes.
Our society is guided by experienced surgeons committed to advancing the profession in Rwanda.
